There are many methods that the
average person can incorporate into their daily or monthly
routine to keep their identities safe. The effort, however,
is time-consuming. I have had friends whose identities have
been stolen, and I have no desire to go through the trouble
through which they had to go. It is for this reason that I
have written this website, as a reminder to myself as well
as to others that help is out there for those who are
willing to shell out a few extra dollars in exchange for
peace of mind.
Not all identity protection services are equal, and I
encourage my readers to take the time to research the
company they wish to contract before signing up. When you
put your identity in the care of a third party, it is wise
to be cautious. IdentityGuard, LifeLock, and TrustedID are
three services which I have highlighted in this site, but
they are by no means an exhaustive list of all the possible
options among which a person can choose. Identity theft and
credit fraud are serious crimes, and the effects of these
crimes can be long-standing and debilitating. Although it
is somewhat cliché to repeat, knowledge is power. The more
you know about how identities are stolen and how credit
fraud is accomplished, the better you can protect yourself.
I invite you to take a look at some of the resources I have
laid out on this site. I sincerely hope that my advice will
help alleviate any lingering identity theft or credit card
fraud worries that you may have.
